Nutty Vegan Burgers

I love homemade vegan burgers, there are a few basic ingredients that you use to make the base and then you can add whatever else you like. The result is always packed full of flavor with the most delicious texture.

Two make 2-3 patties, here are the basic ingredients:

1/4 cup of rolled oats

1 cup mashed potato

1/4 cup flour

1/4 of an onion- chopped

 

I use an egg-beater to mash it all together. I usually have to play with the ingredients a bit (add more oil or potato) to get it thicker or thinner.

 

Then feel free to add whatever you want! For this I added:

1 tsp fresh thyme

3 tbsp fresh cilantro

2 tbsp sunflower seeds

1/4 cup crushed pecans

 

Then roll in your hands and fry with oil.

I love nuts in anything and the result was amazing. Simply serve with the fixings and a fresh bun! I didn’t have any but papaya or mango are insanely amazing with these patties as well.

Other ideas to add to the pattie:

  • Vegan Cheese
  • Chickpeas
  • Basil
  • Any other kind of nut
  • 1 tbsp applesauce
  • Squash
  • Lentils
  • Pesto
  • Garlic

 

So go nuts! (pun intended)
