Hey Everyone! Here is Rich’s first guest post as he goes vegan for a month!
So I’ve taken the challenge to eat a vegan diet for the month of October – with the exception of Thanksgiving, which I will devouring a turkey and piling cheese and chocolate on top (gobble gobble! too soon?).
I’m not much of a meat eater so that part of the vegan diet doesn’t scare me. I’ve only eaten red meat one or two times over the past 5-years, but i love my turkey sandwiches and the occasional chicken wing.
My diet consists of a lot of eggs, cheese and I have a serious sweet tooth, so the occasional chocolate, sugar or cake binge is not out of the question.
I’m only on day two but can already see that i’m going to trim down considerably. Cutting out the chocolate and cheese and replacing my snacking with fruit is a significant change. Frankly its a change I needed to make anyway because I do a lot of snacking on filler carbs that are useless. I’m also feeling the gravitational pull to super foods like kale.
So I’ve done my measurements and weigh in – I will track it once a week to see how my body responds to the new diet.
Here we go!
