I don’t know why I keep turning to Martha Stewart’s Meatless cookbook. Everything has been really bland so far and some of the recipes were obviously created with meat ingredients that were just removed.
But damnit Martha you temptress, the photos are pretty, the recipes are easy, and you beckon me with your perfect table settings and napkin holders.
So anyway I was sucked in and it sort of sucked but the reason I’m sharing it is because it can be saved and made into something tasty!
- I made my own crust (find a recipe here)
- I then added thinly sliced, raw sweet potato, pecans, and sage
So easy! So Simple! Kind of boring!
The final taste was a little bland but it made a world of difference to drizzle it with a balsamic reduction (I used fig), and I think it would be MIND-BLOWING if I had spread some vegan pesto sauce on the crust.
